MENTAL GAME



While it's a little nippy outside you can make headway in the spring by being mentally strong. They do say that this game is 90% mental. Think about your own mental game for a second.... how many swing thoughts do you have? Do you have any at all? If you have more than one in-swing thought, you have too many. Whatever you are working on, be sure that you're not cluttering the mind. For example: "I'm working on a shorter backswing." Not, shorter backswing, drop the club inside and point my right arm at the target" - THAT is too much and you will become frustrated. Keep your practice sessions simple... one specific thought at a time. When you play, have a routine, pick a target and have fun!
